UBC Innovation Precinct

About the Precinct

It’s more than a eureka moment or the creation of a new app or widget. Innovation is a living landscape of thoughts and ideas destined to make a difference in the world. It grows the economy, supports society and changes how we live our lives. UBC is building a community of thought leaders, idea generators and change agents to positively influence the economy and create unique opportunities for the Okanagan.

UBC is excited to announce the creation of a revolutionary new space for research and development activity in the region. Situated on a 60-acre parcel of land on UBC’s Okanagan campus in Kelowna, the UBC Innovation Precinct is a physical and intellectual hub for innovation and expertise. An integrated, interdisciplinary space where the best and brightest minds converge to solve critical challenges and test new technologies.

UBC’s Innovation Precinct will be a dynamic, transformative environment that tears down traditional boundaries and serves as a catalyst for creative new partnerships. A bold new space designed to curate new ideas, push boundaries and enable ground-breaking new discoveries, UBC’s Innovation Precinct will provide exciting opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and experiential learning.

A 21st century campus needs state-of-the-art facilities and a cutting edge approach to solving real world problems. The Innovation Precinct is an expression of the creativity and ingenuity we’re cultivating here.”
